Forrest K Moses.

American 1893-1974

A Winters Landscape. 1963

Information only:
Oil on board 23 x 15 ½ approx.
Framed. Signed bottom right - FORREST K. MOSES

Forrest Moses was the son of the famous artist Anna Mary Robertson (Grandma) Moses who was renown for her depiction of simplistic small town America.
Forrest rapidly developed a similar style and followed in his mothers footsteps.

Sometime after its completion, this work, along with a number of other pieces by the artist, were sent to Vancouver, Canada to a relative, Linda Hailstone, with a view to seeking a gallery to represent him as an artist in his own right.

In 1974, our client agreed with Ms Hailstone to purchase several of his works but sadly, Forrest passed away and before the final transaction for all the pieces took place and the Moses family withdrew from sale all the remaining works, with the exception of just this one which had been purchased.

It has been in a private collection in Canada since then.
