Biography:

Albert Von Escher was born in  Zurich 20th. May 1839 and is best known as a scholarly painter of historical and military subjects which he made his lifes work.

He died in Geneva 16th May 1905. 

He is noted for a distinguished career interpreting many famous battle scenes from history and producing a large  number of highly detailed book illustrations and designs for military uniforms.

Archives hold the majority of his works in Switzerland.See Benezet.The condition of the paintings are generally good, with a little light foxing to the right hand side of only one. Both paintings are executed on thick paper or card and mounted.
