DEFINITION - F A K E
1 (disapproving) Not genuine; appearing to be something it is not Syn. counterfeit: fake painting, fake drawing.
2 Made to look like something else Syn. imitation: an object such as a work of art, a coin or a piece of jewelry that is not genuine but has been made to look as if it is:
Ex. All the oil paintings in the art gallery proved to be fakes.
3 a person who pretends to be what they are not in order to cheat people
