A unique oil painting executed on canvas:

Offered as a late 19th century capriccio panoramic view of a Dutch coastal town, (possibly Dordrecht)

In the manner of, Jacobus Hendricus Maris (1837-1899) Dutch.

This is typical of the sky-line paintings in which Maris added extra elements of Dutch town sceneries. This type of painting is similar to the highlights of the works of Maris, most of them which were sold to the U.S.A.

There is a comparable painting in a book entitled: Lexicon Nederlandse beeldende kunstenaars 1750-1950 (Scheen, Pieter A.)

Condition: There is some craquelure to the piece.
The piece is not re lined but has been re applied to a newer stretcher at some time in the mid 20C.there is no evidence we can see of over painting or in fill.
