 It's not that difficult to see how the lovely works of  French impressionist artist Berthe Morisot (1841-1895) can be faked. Subjectively, her charming pastels and paintings, many unfinished sketches and drawings, are what many an amateur artist has tried to emulate stylistically. Adding a fake signature to one of these is therefore really very simple, though it's unscrupulous and illegal both at the same time. Yet many a fake Morisot work has been seen by us over the years and some were very good indeed.

 Take any good impressionist style floral painting, though the beautiful picture above is an authentic Bertha Morisot painting and add her weighty name to it and many would ignore the lack of sound provenance in favour of the dream.

One made to independently and rationally balance any negative issues there may be against the positive. You should treat this study as a safety net.
