  Chen, Cheng-Po (1895-1947) was a pioneer of Taiwanese art with unusual western painting skills.

Born in Chiayi, Taiwan, he received his training in art at the Tokyo Art Academy and his work was accepted by the 7th Imperial Art Exposition of Japan  in 1926. Chen, Cheng-Po was the first of all Taiwanese artists to achieve such an acclaim.

 After he graduated in 1929, he became a professor of art himself, settling in Shanghai, China, where his work was honoured yet again, this time by the 1st National Art Exposition of China in 1931. Following this success, he attended the World Fair in Chicago, USA. Returning to Taiwan in 1933 he founded "Tai-Yang Art Association" which became the most important art community in Taiwan. As he tried to negotiate with the KMT station troops, tragically Chen Cheng-Po was murdered during the 228 incident (the February 28 massacre, an anti-government uprising in Taiwan, violently suppressed by the Kuomintang-led Republic of China government, which killed thousands of civilians.

 Chens subjects range from sought after and rare Taiwanese landscape and town views, to nude studies, portraiture and still lifes. He produced thousands of works in ink, oil, pastel, pencil and in his lifetime and a large number of Chen Cheng-po’s paintings have sold at auction for record prices for a Taiwanese artist, some into the millions of US dollars. Inevitably, as the values are so high, even for modest works, there are many paintings available on the open market today ascribed to him that bare applied signatures, masquerading as legitimate works by the artist.

 Attribution:  Identifying and confirming the identity of a previously anonymous artist, studio or workshop from which a work of art most likely originated. The re-examination and investigation of a previous attribution which may be incorrect, or the scrutiny of an attribution that has been formally questioned or doubted.

 Confirmation:  Conducting research and investigations into the legitimacy of the provenance, history and prior ownership of a work of art and establishing its own accuracy.

 Scrutiny:  Identifying fake works of art and forgeries, including any false supportive accompanying documentation and determining works of art which may be studio or later copies, or previous incorrect attributions.

 Prosecution:  Investigating alleged art fraud and forgery and assisting and advising those who are , or may be considering litigating or prosecuting the fact. This includes legal professionals and private clients.

 Attention:  Conducting all fine art related due diligence and duty of care inquiries. Including safe prepurchase or sale related audits and assisting clients in consolidating a well balanced future family distribution.

 Appraisal: Valuations, quality and condition assessments and reports.
